Case Study: Porsche 718S

A 1000 Mile road test savings assessment on a 2018 718S petrol 2.5L turbo with 350 bhp by Dan Clarke.

During a week long road trip of Scotland and the Isle of Skye, I found an opportunity to test a petrol car that had never used ElimiNOX before to see what happened. Part of the motivation to do this was drawn from rising fuel prices with average driver now expected to pay £72 (source: mirror.co.uk)

One possible way to do this is to look at the average speed over a distanced travelled. My car records this, so as long as those average speeds are fairly close to each other when comparing pre and post ElimiNOX Eco™ treatment, then we can probably assume that the MPG measurements are genuine and not a reflection of say, town driving with an average speed of 25mph vs a motorway run at 60mph which would obviously skew the MPG results. It should all have evened out. Here we have two drivers with different styles, my wife and I, sharing the driving equally and also a variety of roads from motorways, A roads, B roads to unmade tracks. There was some cruising, some pootling round towns and some vigorous overtaking manoeuvres on the A roads. So this test encompasses a good range of driving styles and types.

MPG = 29.9 My car has recently had a major service by a main dealer. It’s only 3 years old and is in tip top shape; brand new set of brakes and Pirelli P-Zero tyres all round.

Pre ElimiNOX Eco™ the average speed was 36mph, a range of driving over a 454 miles distance.

MPG = 31.4

I then hit reset on this and sent everything back to zero and filled up with normal 95 octane petrol and a 1:1000 ratio.

From the moment I put  ElimiNOX Eco™  in up till 900 miles later (so 3 full tanks) the average speed is 39mph (so a fairly close approximation of driving’s styles and types of road have been covered and evened out compared to 36mph pre  ElimiNOX Eco™ )

MPG = 34.2

For the last 165 miles of this journey I used the second trip counter on the car (so this is the final 165 of the total 903), I wanted to see the final true new MPG now that ElimiNOX Eco™ has well and truly worked it’s way through the car and the detergent / cleaning effects are being seen as well as the combustion improvement. The average speed was again very close at 38mph.
