Businesses Contributing to Climate Change
Times have changed with a greater emphasis on decarbonisation and meeting net zero goals under ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) objectives.
It is now common when applying to banks for finance for questions to be asked about ESG policies and how the business contributes to climate change reduction. Supply chains are also jumping onto this bandwagon asking environmental questions and companies dealing with suppliers are in the same position.
For many businesses with fleets, the burning question is to examine alternative fuel sources and vehicle electrification - huge expenditures being involved that ultimately reduce profitability. If fleet owners could stay the same (for now) but have the ability to reduce fuel costs whilst reducing harmful greenhouse gases at the same time, they can actually increase their profitability.
This is where Eliminox Eco™ - the only fuel conditioner available made from natural ingredients (most other additives have a naptha or paraffinic base), that can also emulsify free water with fuel thus eliminating the diesel bug - comes into its own.
The results are instantaneous with increased lubricity and certified by Bureau Veritas not to affect the fuel itself. Savings in fuel costs for HGVs have been consistently recorded at between 8% and 10%. Translated to the bottom line, this reduction in fuel costs (and also maintenance costs) increases profitability and thus the value of the business. CO2e reductions are over 30% and harmful particulate matter (PM 2.5 and PM 10) have shown reductions of over 60%. In the marine industry results of particulate matter reduction have been over 90%.
Where companies follow ESG and net zero objectives, the reduction of harmful emissions from vehicles and generators is just one of the solutions to reduce their carbon impact and footprint. The social impact of such reduction across communities is meaningful, certainly from a medical viewpoint.
Our research has shown that a company with measurable decarbonisation across all aspects of the business has value. This value can be translated into shareholder value. A company that has not taken these steps will be worth less to a purchaser than one that has.
Proving that steps have been undertaken by a business to improve its environment, reduce its carbon footprint, setting its ESG and net zero goals, and achieving them is now a major objective for businesses large and small. The Eliminox Eco™ carbon reduction certificate is one part of this process.
